Pamela McAtee Harmon is a Los Angeles artist and designer.
Often inspired by the shapes, textures and colors in nature, whether found in the remote desert wilderness or in the heart of the Southern California urban environment, Pamela incorporates and manipulates these organic artifacts into her paintings. Her painting process is frequently evolutionary, but not additive, and reflects the dynamic nature of light, seasonality, and ever-changing, yet repetitive, temporal experience.
“The incredible diversity of inspirational sources allows me to work with a variety of media and syles. I’ve found that the abstract canvas provides the best opportunity to explore these relationships, and is my favorite visual language. With each new work, I try a different avenue to show new relationships between the colors, textures, and patterns that form my inspiration, and that is a very exciting part of the process.”
In addition to painting, Pamela also designs and creates jewelry and decorative art pieces, some of which have been featured in Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art gift store, and was co-founder and lead designer at egoID, which produced and sold many of her products.
